Indian women’s cricket team on Sunday (July 11) registered a thrilling eight-run victory over England in the second T20I at County Ground, Hove to keep the series alive.
Invited to bat first, the visitors posted 148/4 in 20 overs on the back of opener Shafali Verma’s 38-ball 48. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also played a valuable knock of 25-ball 31.
In reply, England women were cruising in the chase at one stage before the Indian spinners and fielders turned things around to restrict the hosts to 140/8.

Poonam Yadav (2-17), Deepti Sharma (1-18) and Arundhati Reddy (1-30) were among the wickets for India while Tammy Beaumont (59 off 50 balls) was the top-scorer for England.
With this victory, Harmanpreet and company levelled the three-match T20I series 1-1, with the decider to be held in Chelmsford on Wednesday (July 14).
For their brilliant fightback, Indian women’s team received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
