England Women’s cricket team star Danielle Wyatt on Tuesday (July 6) has been named in England’s 14-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Indian women’s cricket team.
The T20I series will begin from July 9 in Northampton followed by the second and third T20Is to be held in Hove on July 11 and Chelmsford on July 14 respectively. The ongoing multi-format series comprising one-off Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is worth two points each sits at 6-4 to England.
Besides Wyatt, the spin bowler Mady Villiers also made a comeback to England’s T20I squad for the India series as Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill returned to Charlotte Edwards Cup action.
England head coach Lisa Keightley said: “We’ve played some good cricket across both the Test and ODIs and we’ve named a strong squad for the IT20 series. It’s 6-4 in the multi-format series and we’re pushing hard to win.”
Keightley signed off by saying, “We probably weren’t quite at our best in the third ODI so I’d like us to hit the ground running in the first IT20 and be ruthless.”
