ENGW v INDW 2021: Mithali Raj set to play third ODI against England after recovering from neck pain

Mithali Raj suffered neck pain during the second ODI against England and did not take the field in second innings.

Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj has been declared fit for the third ODI against England women that will take place on Saturday (3rd July). 

Mithali Raj felt neck pain during the second ODI against England women and did not take the field in the second innings as vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur led the side in the hosts’ run chase. 

BCCI on their Twitter account posted the picture of Indian women skipper Mithali Raj and confirmed that she has recovered from the neck pain and is set to lead the team in the third and final game.

"Captain @M_Raj03 has recovered and is training with the girls as we prepare for the 3rd WODI tomorrow here at New Road, Worcester," BCCI tweeted. 

Even though the Indian team has already lost the series, skipper Mithali Raj was in red hot form in the two ODIs that visitors lost. The Indian skipper scored two successive half-centuries in the two matches. 

The third ODI will take place at New Road, Worcester as India will be looking for a consolation win after two losses.
