The Indian men's cricket team and women's cricket team are likely to travel together to the UK on a charter flight on June 2 for their respective series in England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) were reportedly considering May 19 and May 24 as dates for assembling cricketers of Team India and Indian Women cricketers in Mumbai before their departure for the tour of England next month for their respective series.

The women's cricket team will play a one-off Test, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against England Women from mid-June, while the men’s team will play 6 Tests in England, including the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand from June 18 and five Tests against the hosts from August 4.

Both men’s and women’s cricket teams are likely to assemble in Mumbai on Wednesday (May 19) to serve the mandatory two-week quarantine before leaving for England. However, it is being said that cyclone tauktae on the west coast may delay their arrival in Mumbai.

According to a report in ESPNCricinfo.com, “the 20 players in the men's Test squad, excluding those residing in Mumbai, will start their quarantine at the team hotel from Wednesday (May 19)”.

The report further added that the “rest of the squad and members of team management residing in Mumbai, including captain Virat Kohli, his deputy Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, and head coach Ravi Shastri, will enter the bio-secure bubble at the Mumbai team hotel from May 24”.

Noteworthy, both men’s and women’s teams will undergo a 10-day quarantine upon arrival in England.
