Sydney Thunder won the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 06 by defeating Melbourne Stars in the final on Saturday (November 28). It was a one-sided dominance from Thunder to lift their second WBBL title. They won their first WBBL title in 2015.
After restricting Stars to just 86/9 in the final, they chased down the target with 38 balls left and 7 wickets in hand. Shabnim Ismail and Sammy-Jo Johnson, both bagged two wickets each for Thunder. Shabnim won the Player-of-the-Match award for her 2/12 in four overs.
Melbourne Stars were the table-toppers in the league stage with 8 wins in 14 matches, and they also secured a convincing victory in the first semi-final over Perth Scorchers. But Sydney gave no chance to them in the final.
