Netflix documentary on ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 "Beyond The Boundary" released worldwide

The film captures all the action and drama from the ICC tournament in Australia.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has collaborated with the global video streaming platform Netflix for a retrospective feature documentary on ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 named “Beyond the Boundary”.

The breathtaking documentary will release on Netflix on Friday (August 14) for fans.

Australia Women defeated India Women by 85 runs in the summit clash of the T20 World Cup 2020 to lift their record 5th title at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on International Women's Day (March 8) with 86,174 spectators in attendance, a record for a women's sporting event in Australia.

The documentary celebrates the 17-day tournament, which saw the emergence of new heroes in the women’s game as more cricket fans than ever before switched on at the biggest women’s cricket event ever, the ICC said in a statement.

Cricket fans get a chance to relive all the action, excitement, and emotion from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 on popular American internet entertainment service provider Netflix from Friday – where fans will enjoy the thrilling, emotional & exciting stories of the tournament.

ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said in an official statement: “We are immensely proud of Beyond the Boundary and we are delighted to partner with Netflix as part of our long-term commitment to growing the visibility of the women's game and ensuring it has a global platform.”

Sawhney further added, “The film captures all the action and drama from the tournament, which set new benchmarks for not just women's cricket but all women's sport and gives fans around the world the chance to relive one of the greatest ICC events we have ever staged.”

Noteworthy, the views of commentators and administrators, a celebration of the crowds, behind-the-scenes, and dressing room footage, as well as, global pop star Katy Perry’s appearances are all featured in the film – which will be available on the platform with subtitles in English, Thai, French, Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, Korean, Dutch, and Hindi.

The journey shown in the film would certainly inspire millions of girls and boys across the world to take up the sport.
