WI v IND 2019: "Hard work has no substitute" Virat Kohli trains hard ahead of West Indies tour

Kohli was seen hitting the gym ahead of upcoming tour to West Indies.

Virat Kohli | GettySkipper Virat Kohli is trying his best to remain fit during the short vacation the team has got after the conclusion of the marquee event ICC Cricket World Cup.

The players have been given some time off after a wearying season that included IPL and World Cup in a span of just four months.

India’s tour of West Indies is scheduled in August, and Virat Kohli is making full use of the break to keep himself fit and hungry. The skipper was seen hitting the gym and his post read: “Hard work has no substitute.”

Kohli and his side who faced a crushing defeat in semi-finals of World Cup 2019 from the hands of Kiwis, will be looking to get back to winning ways against the Caribbean side.

India is scheduled to begin their West Indies tour with three T20Is (two in Florida and one in Guyana), followed by three ODIs and two tests against a side led by Jason Holder.

Kohli’s availability and Dhoni’s future will be in focus when national selection panel meets to pick Indian squad for West Indies tour.

Dhoni’s future will be decided with his inclusion or omission for the upcoming tour, which begins from August 3. Considering the T20 World Cup will be played next year, selectors might opt for Rishabh Pant while overlooking Dhoni.

Another debated issue will be Kohli’s availability, owing to his busy run. There was news that Kohli will be rested for the upcoming tour, with Rohit Sharma taking over his responsibilities in his absence.

However, it now seems that Kohli will be available to lead in all three formats.
