After an action-packed World Cup 2019, Team India is scheduled to tour the West Indies. India will play 3 T20s, 3 ODIs, 2 Tests against Jason Holder and Co.

The India opener Shikhar Dhawan and all-rounder Vijay Shankar who was ruled out of the World Cup due to injuries reported at the National Cricket Academy on Monday.

The 33-year-old left-hand opening batsman from Delhi fractured his left thumb while batting against the Aussies in a league match at The Oval in London on June 9, where he played brilliant innings of 117.

The injury caused the opener to get ruled out of the tournament for three weeks and 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was flown to the UK as Dhawan’s replacement.

Vijay Shankar, on the other hand, injured his left toe while facing a yorker from Jasprit Bumrah in the nets. The 28-year-old all-rounder from Tamil Nadu suffered a non-displaced fracture and Mayank Agarwal was called in as his replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

The selectors are going to pick the team for West Indies tour on July 19. However, there is no news on MS Dhoni’s inclusion in the team as the 38-year-old from Ranchi was criticized for his inefficiency to score quickly in death overs. MSK Prasad will be speaking to the team management before the selection of the squad.
