England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been included in the 12-man squad for the third and final Test against the West Indies to be played at St. Lucia from Saturday (February 9).
Reportedly, Stokes was forced to miss the Lions’ training session two days out from the final Test at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium due to a bruised heel. However, the all-rounder is now expected to feature in the final Test of the series, which England has already lost 0-2 at St. Lucia.
England have dropped wicketkeeper Ben Foakes and recalled Keaton Jennings with Jonny Bairstow taking the gloves and Joe Denly batting at three in a bid to take some pride to the UK at St. Lucia against the upbeat Caribbean side.
Meanwhile, the tourists have also included paceman Mark Wood in the squad and he could replace Sam Curran in the playing XI at St. Lucia, as England look to strengthen their pace attack for the final Test.
On the other hand, Chris Woakes and Jack Leach continue to warm the bench in the Wes Indies as the duo failed to make it to the final XI for the third Test here.
England drastically failed to grip their roots on the Caribbean soil having lost both Tests with massive margins -the opening Test by 381 runs and the second by 10 wickets, and are now looking to avoid the embarrassment of a whitewash at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium.
