With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 set to be formally postponed this week, as per reports, Australia’s men's cricket team has been asked to get ready for the England tour in September amid the COVID-19 crisis.
However, there is no official word from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the postponement of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 – which is scheduled to take place in Australia between October-November, a report published in The Daily Telegraph claims that the showpiece tournament is set to be officially postponed this week in wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

While the Australian players have already started outdoor training following a three-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team has been told to be ready for a comeback in England.
England and Australia were originally scheduled to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 Internationals as part of the inaugural 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League in July 2020, but the limited-overs tour moved back to September 2020 due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Australia’s ‘The Daily Telegraph’ reported: “Cricket’s World Cup is set to be officially postponed this week as Australia’s players are told to start preparing for comeback battle against England.”
Meanwhile, the report also claimed that Cricket Australia decided to allow its players to play in the IPL 2020 if the tournament gets the October-November window of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.

The newspaper further wrote, “The ideal scenario would be they could go straight from the England limited-overs series to wherever the T20 league is held in the Middle East or Asia. Training for return to action in September is the strongest indication yet that Aaron Finch’s troops will head to the UK for a limited-overs tour in the bio-security bubble.”
However, the England-Australia series is yet to be officially confirmed but Australia’s pace bowlers are “building up their workloads for a return to play in September and players have been told to start preparing for another date with the Old Enemy.”
