Harbhajan Singh has opined that one should not think much about Dhoni’s future in the Indian team and just pick him if he is available to play in the T20 World Cup.

It is believed that the IPL was his only chance to get back into form before the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will be announced. However, Dhoni has lost the chance as the tournament has been suspended till further notice because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“MS Dhoni never looked rusty during CSK training camp,” says L Balaji

His Indian and IPL teammate Harbhajan Singh believes that the selectors and fans should not ponder over whether Dhoni should be in the team for the World Cup and the former should just pick him if he’s available to participate.

The 39-year-old told IANS, “How do you judge Dhoni? Do you see his IPL form or give him respect and consider the fact that he is one of India's greatest players and captains. The guy has done a lot for Indian cricket. MS Dhoni is a big big player. He doesn't need to be told if he is capable or not. So I don't think you need to ponder too much about it. If you think you need Dhoni, and if he is available, you pick him.

Baroda all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also been out with injuries and hasn’t played a lot of competitive cricket in the recent past. The off-spinner is extremely sure that the younger Pandya brother should also be in the squad despite little practice in the recent past because he is important for the team combination.

Hardik Pandya has not played after the World Cup. But I can give you in writing that if he is fit and irrespective of whether the IPL takes place or not when the team will be made he will be in the team because if the team needs to maintain combination, he has to be in the team. You need this kind of players. So some players cannot be judged on IPL form. It is for them who are not proven players," Harbhajan said.
