Sri Lanka head coach Mickey Arthur believes that his team needs some adjustments and build a method to win games in the Twenty20 format, as the Islanders are looking to add another ICC T20 World Cup 2020 trophy to their kitty later this year after winning World T20 title in 2014.
The coach further added that the work on the same is going on and even they amplified against a very strong West Indies team last month at home, though the hosts lost two Twenty20 Internationals but managed to clean sweep a three-match one-day series.

Arthur told Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) media, “Our T20 side is still going to take some fine-tuning and this was amplified against a very strong West Indies team that simply had too much power for us.”
He further added, “I think the most important thing is building a method to win games based on the resources that you have at your disposal and then making sure that the players are under no illusion as to what that method is based on our strengths,”
Meanwhile, the Lankan coach was also disappointed that their home Test series against England was called off last month due to the coronavirus pandemic, as it was his first toughest assignment since taking over the reins of the Islanders in December last year.
However, he was hopeful that the Test series would be played at a later date, as well as, the momentum that they made would not be lost when the game begins again.
Arthur, who has also coached South Africa, Australia, and Pakistan, explained: “It was really disappointing not playing the Test series against England although this will be played at a later date. We had just worked out a brand that we knew would be successful against all teams, and I just hope that the momentum that we had built up will not be lost with our test team when we start up again,”
He signed off by saying, “We have some very realistic goals with our test team and believe that we have now the players and game plans to have success both at home and abroad in the future.”
