India won the T20 World Cup 2024 for the second time after 17 years as they defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final in Barbados on Saturday.

Jasprit Bumrah proved to be the difference as he pulled back the game for India as South Africa needed 30 runs in 30 balls at one stage. Though Hardik Pandya picked the important wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, it was Bumrah, who gave 6 runs and picked one wicket in his last 2 overs.

He was awarded the Player of the Tournament and as the Indian players celebrated hard on the pitch after the historic win, Bumrah was interviewed by his wife and presenter Sanjana Ganesan.

"It's not really sinking because midway through the innings we were confident then we were a little nervous but I'm really happy to get a win like this, it has been a great tournament. Angad (son) is also here. He's seen his father win the World Cup, there's no better feeling, to contribute in a tournament like this, there's no better feeling than that,” Bumrah says after being congratulated by Sanjana.

Sanjana then asks Bumrah to share a word on India's campaign and how amazing it's been to play with this group of players.

Bumrah replies, "Absolutely exceptional. All praises come short, the way we played, how we held our calm, stuck to expectations, and even in the last stage when it seemed a little bleak, we did not panic, so words fall short."

Sanjana asked about his thoughts on bowling with Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya and Bumrah replied, "It's been really good, all of them are so confident and the variety that they bring and the confidence that they have to execute it on the big stage, that's brilliant to see and there's no better feeling than this."

Bumrah ends the conversation by giving Sanjana a hug that leaves her blushing.
