India off-spinner R Ashwin reacted to former England captain Michael Vaughan’s prediction for the Indian team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa. This match will be played in Barbados on June 29, 2024.

The two teams contending for the prized championship are India and South Africa, both of whom have performed admirably throughout the competition.

India, led by the seasoned Rohit Sharma, has been in dominant form, demonstrating their abilities against strong opponents such as Australia, Pakistan, and England.

On the other side, South Africa's route to the final has been more difficult, with several near escapes. Despite facing difficulties from Bangladesh and Nepal in the group stage, as well as a close encounter with co-hosts West Indies, the Proteas overcame adversity to clinch their position in the final match.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has expressed his belief that an Indian victory in the final could potentially trigger a "trophy-winning spree" for the Men in Blue.

"I feel if India gets the job done today, they are going to go on a trophy-winning spree. They have so much quality in and out of this squad. It's been 10 years since they won a trophy, and this one could lead to quite a few over the next years," Vaughan wrote on 'X'.
