India defeated England by 68 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final | GettyFormer India spinner Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at Michael Vaughan for his constant accusations about pitch favoring the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final against England.

India outclassed England by 68 runs in the second semi-final of the tournament at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday (June 27).

As a result, the Men in Blue maintained their unbeaten streak in the competition and set up a final date with South Africa, scheduled to be played in Barbados on Saturday (June 29).

Amidst their dominance, Vaughan took to social media platform X to call out the venue bias for India. He claimed that the Guyana pitch was the most suitable for the Indian team.

To which, Harbhajan gave a befitting reply as he asked Vaughan to accept that England were outplayed by India and move on.

“If England had beaten SA they would have got the Trinidad semi and I believe they would have won that game .. So no complaints they haven’t been good enough .. But Guyana has been a lovely venue pick for India,” Vaughan tweeted.

Harbhajan responded: “What makes u think Guyana was a good venue for India  ? Both Teams played on the same venue . England won the toss that was an advantage . Stop being silly . England was outplayed by India in all departments. Accept the fact and Move on and keep ur rubbish with urself. Talk logic not Nonsense.”

Besides Harbhajan, veteran spinner R Ashwin and former opener Wasim Jaffer also had savage responses for Vaughan’s tweets regarding pitch bias towards India.

Earlier, Afghanistan’s nine-wicket defeat against South Africa in the first semi-final led to Michael Vaughan voicing concerns about the T20 World Cup scheduling.

In a post, Vaughan attributed Afghanistan's semi-final loss to the biased schedule favouring India.

He also highlighted logistical challenges faced by the Afghanistan team, including a significant flight delay to Trinidad, which resulted in insufficient preparation time at the new venue.
