Chris Jordan of England became the second bowler in this T20 World Cup 2024 to take a hat-trick. Jordan achieved this feat while facing the USA in their crucial Super 8s Group 2 game in Barbados on June 23, 2024.
Earlier, Pat Cummins picked two hat-tricks in back-to-back games against Bangladesh and Afghanistan and now Jordan has joined him in the list of bowlers with hat-tricks in the T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler had won the toss against the USA and chosen to bowl first. Chris Jordan was brought into the playing XI for Mark Wood.
USA had a tough time against England bowlers on a slowish track at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. Nitish Kumar (30) and Corey Anderson (29) were the top scorers as the USA folded for 115 runs.
Adil Rashid had wreaked havoc in middle overs, with figures of 2/13, while Sam Curran also took two wickets. However, the USA innings was folded when they lost their last 5 wickets on 115 runs.
Four of those wickets went to Chris Jordan in the 19th over. He started by dismissing Corey Anderson on the first ball of the over. And then on the third, fourth, and fifth balls, dismissed Ali Khan, Nosthush Kenjige, and Saurabh Netravalkar to complete his hat-trick.
Jordan finished with figures of 4/10 in the end.

In the mid-innings, Chris Jordan was asked about his feat as he became the first England bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup.
“Unbelievable feeling (to take the hattrick), was good to restrict them. Getting it (hattrick) at a special place (Barbados - his birthplace) is always nice. Glad I was able to hit the target. Just finished it off towards the end. We summed up the conditions pretty well, we knew they will came hard at us in the powerpland ay, the hashave been playing well in the tournament. Rashid set up the game for us. Points first and foremost,” Jordan told the official broadcasters.
