T20 World Cup 2024: WATCH- Jos Buttler takes flying one-handed catch of De Kock; then runs out Heinrich Klaasen with a direct hit

England won the toss and chose to bowl first keeping South Africa to 163/6.

Jos Buttler's excellent catch of Quinton de Kock | ICCEngland and South Africa are clashing in their Super 8s game at St. Lucia in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Both teams are coming into this match after winning one match each.

Jos Buttler, the England captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa had a decent opening stand of 86 runs in 10 overs in which Quinton de Kock dominated the run-making and Reeza Hendricks only contributed 19 runs.

De Kock hammered a 22-ball fifty and looked like scoring a big one. He launched an attack on the England bowlers from the start of the inning and smashed 65 off 38 deliveries. And he was looking for more, but Jofra Archer got better to him, and the wicket belonged to Jos Buttler.

Archer bowled a short ball outside off stump to De Kock in the 12th over and the Proteas keeper tried to slash at it. Buttler anticipated the catch and moved towards off and had to dive full length to his left to take an amazing one-handed stunner.

Then, Heinrich Klaasen looked settled in and was trying to form a partnership with David Miller at the other end. On the 4th ball of the 14th over, Klaasen hits a Mark Wood delivery towards the leg side and scampers for one run.

However, Jos Buttler swooped onto the ball quickly and made a direct hit at the non-striker’s end to run out Klaasen. The direct hit meant that the dangerous batter was caught unaware and was out of the crease. Even David Miller couldn’t believe that Buttler made a direct hit from that distance.
