Team India are also playing their Group A games in New York. The have won first two matches against Ireland and Pakistan at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

India’s next fixture is scheduled at the same venue against the tournament co-hosts USA, before the Men in Blue will move to Florida to play their last group match versus Canada.

Ahead of the USA clash, a report published in CricketNext claims that the Indian team was forced to hunt for a quality gym close to their hotel in New York.

Not pleased with the facilities of the hotel gym, the BCCI has reportedly bought membership of a nearby facility.

“Yes, the team doesn’t use the hotel gym and they have a membership of a gym nearby and everyone uses that. It is a very popular gym chain,” CricketNext quoted a source as saying.

Earlier, it was reported that India head coach Rahul Dravid was not happy with the “average” facilities given to the side in Cantiague Park – the designated training facility for teams playing their matches in New York.

Despite the issues with the practice arrangements and venue preparedness, the BCCI has decided against raising an official complaint.

According to the report, there was no arrangements for refreshments for the media at Cantiague Park and it was the Indian board which ensured food for everyone covering those practice sessions before the team’s campaign opener.

“We all are aware of the rushed arrangements everywhere. From practice to ground to the gym facilities in the hotel, everything is here and there. Chaos is the right word,” the source added.

Having won the first two matches, Team India are in a good position to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the tournament. All matches of the Super 8 in addition to semi-finals and final will be held in the Caribbean.
