T20 World Cup 2023: Pakistan’s Aiman Anwar roasted for her old ‘managed to beat ur women’ remark after loss to India

Anwar had reminded a fan of Pakistan's Asia Cup 2022 win over India during an argument.

Aiman Anwar was hit for 3 fours in 18th over by Richa Ghosh | GettyPakistan pacer Aiman Anwar was the target of Twitterverse for her five-month-old remark on Twitter after her team was beaten by Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team in their opening match of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.

Pakistan batted first after winning the toss and thanks to captain Bismah Maroof’s 68* and Ayesha Naseem’s 43*, made 149/7 in 20 overs. In reply, Shafali Verma made 33, while Jemimah Rodrigues (53*) and Richa Ghosh (31*) took India to victory in the 19th over with 7 wickets in hand.

Aiman Anwar was trusted by Maroof to bowl the 18th over when India needed 28 runs in 18 balls. However, Richa Ghosh hammered her for three consecutive fours and she went for 14 runs in the over, bringing down the equation to 14 in 12 balls, which was achieved when Rodrigues hit Fatima Sana for three fours in the 19th over.

Meanwhile, after the win, Twitterverse dug out Aiman Anwar’s tweets which were made during the India v Pakistan Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 match which was played in Melbourne.

She was arguing with Twitterati over how Virat Kohli was allowed to run three runs after getting bowled on a free hit by Mohammad Nawaz in the final over of the match when India needed 16 runs to win.

Anwar argued with fans that one can run on a catch on a free hit, but it should be a dead ball after being bowled. The fan then questioned, how she became an international cricketer without having the knowledge of cricketing rules.

As a comeback, Anwar reminded the fan that Pakistan women still defeated India in the Asia Cup 2022 tournament by 13 runs as India was bowled out for 124 while chasing a target of 138 runs. However, Indian women went on to win the Asia Cup tournament, defeating Sri Lanka women in the final.

However, Aiman Anwar’s this tweet of reminding fans of Pakistan beating India came back to bite her after India defeated Pakistan in their opening match of T20 World Cup 2023 as Twitterverse roasted her into oblivion.
