T20 World Cup 2022: Team India congratulate England on winning the title by defeating Pakistan in final

In the summit clash, Pakistan posted 137/8 on the board after being invited to bat first. Shan Masood was the top scorer with 28-ball 38.

Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers for England, taking three wickets by conceding only 12 runs in his four overs. Adil Rashid (2-22) and Chris Jordan (2-27) also returned with two scalps each.

In reply, the Three Lions rode on Ben Stokes’ unbeaten 52 off 49 balls to overhaul the target with five wickets in hand and an over to spare.

With this victory, England became the second team after West Indies to clinch the T20 World Cup title twice.

After the game, Team India extended congratulatory messages to the Jos Buttler-led England side on social media.
