Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar took a cheeky dig at India’s Irfan Pathan after he was criticized for his ‘Grace padosiyon ke bas ki baat nahi’ tweet in the aftermath of India’s exit from the T20 World Cup 2022 after they lost to England in second semi-final by 10 wickets.
Pakistan, on the other hand, will clash will England at MCG on November 13 in the finals, as they had beaten New Zealand in the first knockout game.
“Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai (Neighbours, winning and losing is part and parcel of the game but grace doesn't come naturally to you),” Irfan had tweeted on Friday, after a clinical show from the Pakistan side reaching their third T20 World Cup final.
The next day, many hopes of an India v Pakistan final at MCG were crushed as England chased down the 169-run target with all 10 wickets in hand and sent the Indian team packing out of the T20 World Cup.
This led to Shoaib Akhtar taking a cheeky dig at Irfan Pathan’s tweet saying: “Aray kya ho gaya bro? Kisi nay kuch kaha hai toh mujhe bata. Main daantoon ga. Promise (What happened brother? If anyone tells you anything, inform me. I will scold them. Promise).”
Irfan Pathan responded to Akhtar saying: “Haha. Thodi badatamizi stadium mein or uska reaction. Baaki u know me manage to hum hi karte hai. Lots of love brother.”
England will now face Pakistan in the final on Sunday in Melbourne.
