T20 World Cup 2022: “GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai,” Irfan Pathan’s jibe at Pakistan fans after Men in Green reach final

Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the semi-final to book a spot in the final.

Pakistan qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 final | GettyPakistan on Wednesday (November 9) qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 final by defeating New Zealand in the semi-final at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Asked to bowl first, the Men in Green restricted the Kiwis to 152/4 and then chased down the target with seven wickets in hand and five balls to spare.

After the game, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan posted a tweet, aiming at the Pakistani fans for their distasteful comments following the win.

“Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai,” Irfan wrote.

In his next tweet, Pathan also clarified that his post wasn’t directed at the Pakistani cricketers, which clearly suggests that he was referring to the comments of Pakistan fans.

“And this is not for the player. NEVER.”, he added.

Notably, Pakistan were in dire straits after suffering two back-to-back last-over defeats in the Super 12 round versus India and Zimbabwe. However, they showed great character and bounced back to register wins against Netherlands, South Africa, and Bangladesh.

Moreover, the result of some other games also went in their favour and the Babar Azam-led side eventually made it to the semi-final, where they were clinical with both bat and ball.

Pakistan will now face the winner of the second semi-final between India and England in the summit clash at MCG on November 13.
