Two days ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against India, England are in a spot of bother with a couple of injury concerns.

On Tuesday (November 8), leading fast bowler Mark Wood opted out of training in Adelaide. As per Sky Sports, Wood appeared to pull up during a gentle jog and took no part in optional practice, which seemed to be a precautionary measure as England confirmed that he had general body stiffness.

If the speedster does not feature in the semi-final against India on Thursday (November 10), it will be a massive blow to England.

Notably, Wood has consistently bowled with a speed of 90 mph in the ongoing T20 World Cup Down Under. In four matches, the right-arm pacer has claimed nine wickets at an average of 12.00 and an economy rate of 7.71.

Tymal Mills is the closest like-for-like replacement for Mark Wood. While Mills is a left-armer, he is capable of generating serious pace.

Besides, the 2010 T20 World Cup champions are yet to make a call over the availability of left-handed batter Dawid Malan, who tweaked his left groin while fielding during the last Super 12 match against Sri Lanka.

Malan is an integral member of England's top-order, having amassed 1,748 runs at an average of 38.84 in 55 T20Is. The southpaw has registered scores of 18, 35 and 3* in the three innings he has batted at the T20 World Cup 2022.

In case, Dawid Malan gets ruled out then Phil Salt is likely to play the semi-final against India.
