Suryakumar Yadav made 30 in 16 balls and took two good catches | ICCIndia got back into winning form after a close loss to South Africa in Perth, as they defeated Bangladesh by 5 runs in Adelaide on Wednesday in a rain-affected encounter and moved closer to the semi-finals qualification.

Virat Kohli, who has been the leading figure from the Indian camp, once again rose to the occasion, smashing an unbeaten 64 off 44 balls, an innings that featured eight 4s and one 6. Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul also showed signs of returning back to form and scored 50 in 31 balls with 4 sixes to his name.

After being asked to bat first by Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan, India posted 184/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Litton Das took advantage of powerplay overs and gave Bangladesh a flying start, as they made 66 runs in 7 overs with Das making his half-century in just 21 balls. Then the rain interrupted the game for 30 minutes or so.

After the match resumed, the tables turned as Bangladesh, now needing 151 to win in 16 overs and 85 more runs in 9 overs, panicked after Litton Das got run out shortly after the resumption. Nurul Hasan’s 25* and Taskin’s lusty blows took Bangladesh close to the target, but eventually, they fell 5 runs short.

Following the interval, Bangladesh started losing wickets in a hurry and it was at this point when India's star campaigner Suryakumar Yadav made an incredible gesture towards the spectators. He had contributed 30 runs in 16 balls and took two catches.

He pointed towards India on his jersey and urged the fans to chant as well and make noise to encourage the team. The antics didn't stop there and as we walked towards the long-off fence he put his hands on his ears, making a gesture that he still cannot hear.
