The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 match between Pakistan and the Netherlands in Perth witnessed a horrible incident on Sunday (October 30), as the Dutch batter Bas De Leede was hit in the face by a fiery bouncer by Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf.

The incident took place in the fifth delivery of the six overs during the first innings when Rauf sent a short delivery, which eventually ended up hitting De Leede on the grill of his helmet, causing an ugly cut right below his right eye.

Just after being hit by the nasty bouncer, the Dutch batter was forced to leave the field and immediately retired hurt after a chat with the team physio.

After that, the Netherlands called for Logan van Beek as their concussion substitute for the Super 12 clash against Pakistan on Sunday. However, there was no serious damage, but De Leede was sent to the hospital for a check-up and he got some stitches on his cheek, right below his eye.

Meanwhile, the ICC on Sunday shared a video on its official Twitter handle where Rauf and De Leede were seen exchanging some warm words after Pakistan won the match by 6 wickets against the Netherlands in Perth.
