Michael Vaughan, the former England cricketer, has questioned why the crucial match between Australia and England on Friday (October 28), which was called off due to rain, wasn't played in Melbourne's Docklands Stadium, which has a roof.

On Friday, two matches that were supposed to take place in Melbourne were cancelled. The points table changed significantly as a consequence of all four teams sharing a single point, with England moving up to the second position.

With a spot in the semi-finals at stake, matches getting abandoned isn't doing teams much good.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan vented his frustration on Twitter about the arrangements made at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG) which was the venue for the blockbuster clash.

Here’s the tweet he put out:

Vaughan continued by highlighting how superior the arrangements are in Sri Lanka. He noticed that in case of a thunderstorm, the grounds are covered completely, and play resumes as soon as the conditions get better.

England will next face New Zealand on Tuesday (November 01) at the Gabba.
