The high voltage encounter between India and Pakistan lived up to its hype as both teams contested in a tightly fought encounter at the MCG on October 23rd in front of more than 90,000 screaming fans.
Virat Kohli came out the hero as his 82* in just 53 balls helped India chase down a 160-run target after being 45/4 after 10 overs. He got help from Hardik Pandya (40), who added 113 runs with him for the fifth wicket. Earlier, the Men in Blue were rocked by Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah as they were reduced to 31/4 in 6 overs.
Kohli himself hit three fours in the 18th over, two sixes in the 19th over, and one six in the 20th over as India got home on the last ball of the match after a dramatic last over by Mohammad Nawaz.
Hailing Kohli's performance, Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to Twitter and wished everyone on the occasion of Diwali and said that he celebrated by watching the last three overs of the match.
He wrote: "Happy Diwali! Hope everyone celebrating has a great time with your friends and family. I celebrated by watching the last three overs again today, what a game and performance."
A fan commented on his post and asked him to watch the first three overs, querying him whether he watched how the Pakistani bowlers dominated Indian top order. However, Sundar Pichai was one step ahead and instead answered that he enjoyed watching Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling.
The fan asked "you should watch 1st three overs", to which the Google CEO responded: "Did that too:) what a spell from Bhuvi and Arshdeep."
Arshdeep Singh had dismissed Babar Azam for a golden duck on the first ball of the second over and then accounted for Mohammad Rizwan in his second over and finished with 3/32. Hardik Pandya took 3/30, while Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket each.
