Shaheen Shah Afridi will once again be a threat which Indian batters need to be wary of ahead of the blockbuster India-Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday (October 23).

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar shared his insights on how he would handle Shaheen amid the excitement that surrounds each time the two nations square up on the field.

When asked what he would have done if he had to play against a bowler of Shaheen's quality during his playing days, Tendulkar responded that he hasn't given it much thought because he knows he won't be facing him.

"I have not put my mind as such since I know I won't be facing him," he told PTI during a chat.

He shared further how to come out on top against Shaheen Afridi.

"Shaheen is an attacking bowler and he likes to go for wickets. He pitches the ball up and backs himself to swing the ball. He has the capability to beat the batters in the air and off the pitch with his pace upfront. So with him, strategy should be to play straight and within the 'V'," he said.

"Trigger movement is a preparation to play the ball and not a commitment, if you are not committing to play the ball, it could be either on front-foot or backfoot, but it is a trigger movement and not commitment," he added.

The batting icon while elaborating on the concept, offered his opinions on how to approach movement after committing on the front or backfoot.

"Trigger movement is a preparation to play the ball and not commitment, if you are not committing to play the ball, it could be either on front-foot or backfoot, but it is a trigger movement and not commitment," he said.

"Because once you are committed on backfoot, you can't come on the front-foot and vice versa. Trigger movement is about preparation.

"Every ball, there is some kind of movement, as long as that is not commitment it is fine," Tendulkar concluded.

When the two sides collided during the T20 World Cup 2021, Afridi took the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.

The 22-year-old seamer will once again pose a threat to the top order at the MCG where the match will be played on Sunday.
