T20 World Cup 2022: WATCH- Pakistan’s Shan Masood stunned after blow to head; taken to hospital for scans

Shan Masood after being hit by a ball on his head | TwitterPakistan has suffered an injury scare after batter Shan Masood was taken to hospital after suffering a blow to the side of his head during a training session in Melbourne. Pakistan plays India in their first T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12s match in MCG on October 23rd.

Masood, who has been in good form for the Men in Green in the middle order was hit by a stray shot on the head off the bat of Mohammad Nawaz. Since Masood was not batting at the time, he wasn’t wearing a helmet as well.

Several videos are also doing rounds on Twitter in which the latter could be seen lying on the ground after being hit. However, an official word from the Pakistan team management is yet to come.

ESPNCricinfo reported that Masood was conscious and reported no concussion symptoms. He has been taken to the hospital for scans.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will be going into the India match with a huge defeat to England in their first warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2022, while they managed to do well against Afghanistan in the second match which was rained out.
