Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar backed Suryakumar Yadav to do a great job with the bat for Team India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, despite the fact that the stylish batter is on his maiden tour down under.

He further stressed that Suryakumar will not have any problems while facing spinners or pacers in the Australian conditions. The star Indian batter has been in great form with the bat in recent times, and Bangar mentioned that it will be important for him to carry his confidence and form into the showpiece event in Australia.

Sanjay Bangar said on Star Sports’ show 'Follow The Blues': “Suryakumar is on his first tour in Australia and the key factor for any player touring Australia for the first time is to get used to the pace and bounce of the wicket. So, for Suryakumar, I don't think he will face any difficulties in facing the spin bowlers or the pace bowlers.”

The former cricketer continued, “And this is a good sign because he has been pivotal to the Indian batting lineup, especially in the middle order. So, for Suryakumar to make runs, it's important for him to carry this confidence well into the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, Indian opener KL Rahul played brilliantly in two practice matches in Australia and the former batting coach believes that it is really a great sign for the Men in Blue to have someone who can really maximize the first six overs in the tournament.

Praising Rahul, Bangar said: “He has scored back-to-back fifties in this tour and the best part of it all is the fluency we have got to see from him. In the way he has timed the ball as well when he is hitting the ball, it is clearing the boundary easily.”

He signed off by saying, “And the team needs someone who can hit the ball like he does because that is the way the Indian Team has planned to maximize the first six overs. So, for him to perform like this, with this kind of form, is very beneficial for Team India.”

Notably, India won the first T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match against Australia by 6 runs, while the second warm-up match against New Zealand was abandoned without a single bowl bowled. The Indian team will kickstart its campaign against Pakistan at the MCG on Sunday (October 23).
