Injuries have decimated several teams, forcing them to make changes to their starting lineups.England is one of the top teams that suffered a major blow on Wednesday (October 19).

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday revealed that England, Sri Lanka, and the UAE made changes to their 15-member squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Reece Topley was ruled out of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 due to an ankle injury and was replaced by Tymal Mills, who is a travelling reserve player in the squad. Topley rolled his ankle while stepping on a boundary cushion during a fielding drill earlier this week, and it turned out to be a big blow for England before their campaign begins against Afghanistan on October 23.

However, England will now be hoping Mills will make the most of his experience of playing in Australia for the team in the tournament. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka made two changes to their T20 World Cup 2022 squad after Dushmantha Chameera and Danushka Gunathilaka were ruled out of the event.

The in-form pacer, Chameera, was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 with a calf injury and was later replaced by Kasun Rajitha in the squad. On the other hand, Ashen Bandara, who is a travelling reserve, came in place of Gunathilaka in the Sri Lanka squad after a hamstring tear ended his campaign.

Aside from England and Sri Lanka, the UAE was also hit by an early injury, as their star all-rounder Zawar Farid was ruled out of the tournament with a fractured foot and was replaced in the squad by Fahad Nawaz.

However, the UAE is out of the race for the Super 12 after losing its first two group matches, while Sri Lanka can make it to the second round if they manage to beat the table-topper Netherlands in their final group match on Thursday (October 20).

The UAE will play Namibia in its final T20 World Cup 2022 match on Thursday, with the Netherlands from Group A, having a good chance of making the Super 12 if Sri Lanka fails to win the must-win match.
