The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is going on in full swing in Australia and the qualifiers have so far seen thrilling encounters with new teams impressing one and all with their performance in the tournament.
While Namibia thrashed Sri Lanka in the first qualifying match of the T20 World Cup 2022, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Zimbabwe upset the UAE, West Indies, and Ireland respectively in their group encounters.
The Netherlands recorded another win, as they came an inch close to a Super 12 berth by thrashing Namibia in their second group match on Tuesday, October 18. Well, the Super 12 matches of the T20 World Cup 2022 will get underway with the hosts and defending champions, Australia, taking on New Zealand on October 22 at the SCG.
Before the start of the second round, Sunil Gavaskar and Tom Moody had picked their favorites for the final.
Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar who is currently in Australia on commentary duty picked India and Australia as his finalists for the T20 World Cup 2022 and Moody has also a similar choice.
Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports: “India, definitely. And because I am in Australia so I am going to say Australia.”
However, the former Australian cricketer said that Australia, England, Pakistan, and India will make it to the semifinals, but predicted the final battle will take place between the hosts and Team India.
Tom Moody said on Star Sports: “I am going to give you the top four. Australia and England will go through from their group. I think Pakistan and India would be leading the other group. The finalists, I have to say Australia and India.”
