Batting first after losing the toss, Scotland put up a decent total of 160/5 in 20 overs with experienced George Munsey making 66* in 35 balls with 9 fours amidst a break for rain. Calum Macleod made 23 and Michael Jones made 20, while Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder picked two wickets apiece for the Windies.

In reply, West Indies were 53/2 inside the powerplay overs but then lost the plot completely as Scotland bowlers dominated the proceedings. Leading the fight was left-arm spinner Mark Watt, who opened the bowling and finished with figures of 3/12 in 4 overs.

Brad Wheal and Michael Leask picked two wickets each as West Indies lost their last 7 wickets for 26 runs and collapsed to 118 all out and lost the match by 42 runs.

The 26-year-old Watt was ecstatic at Scotland’s and has shared his elation at the victory by sharing the notes he took before the match started. Notably, there was just one point on the list- “Don’t bowl slot”.

The Nicholas Pooran-led side will face Zimbabwe in their next outing, while Scotland is set to lock horns with Ireland. Both games will take place on Wednesday.
