T20 World Cup 2022: WATCH – Kane Richardson’s hilarious reaction after dismissing Suryakumar Yadav in warm-up game

Suryakumar Yadav slammed 50 off 33 balls in India's warm-up match against Australia.

Suryakumar Yadav | GettyHaving made his international debut last year, Suryakumar Yadav has established himself as one of India’s leading batters in the shortest format.

In 34 T20Is, Yadav has amassed 1045 runs at an average of 38.70 and a strike rate of 176.81, including one hundred and nine half-centuries.

Suryakumar seems to be in complete control of his game ahead of India’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign as well.

In the warm-up fixture against Australia on Monday (October 17), the right-hander slammed 55 off 33 balls and his knock was studded with 6 fours and 1 six. He got out to a full toss off Kane Richardson in the final over of India’s innings.

After the end of the first innings, Richardson heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav while speaking to the official broadcaster.

"I think it was the first time he (Suryakumar Yadav) missed the middle of the bat against us. Starc hitting him in the head played into our hands a little bit. He's one of the best batters in the world at the moment, so it was good taking him on," said Richardson.

Kane Richardson was the stand-out bowler for Australia, picking four wickets by conceding 30 runs in his four overs.

"I'm not expecting to start, but if anything happens with form or injury, I could be in, just happy to be out in the middle today," said Richardson.

"The atmosphere is really nice, we'll go out there and enjoy our stint in the middle, the sun is out and it's a good batting pitch. Disappointed to play in front of an empty stadium, we usually have it filled for games against India," he added.

Coming to the match, the Men in Blue posted 186/7 on the board. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul smashed a fine half-century (57 off 33 balls) for India.

Defending the total, the Rohit Sharma-led side bundled out the hosts for 180 to win the match by 6 runs. Mohammad Shami (3-4), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-20), Yuzvendra Chahal (1-28), Harshal Patel (1-30), and Arshdeep Singh (1-34) were among the wickets for India.
