Suryakumar Yadav has emerged as another superstar in Indian cricket in a very short span of time and the stylish right-hander is now one of the best T20 batters in the world. He consistently scores runs for Team India and is known for his 360-degree hitting ability.

He is often compared with the South African legend AB De Villiers for his 360-degree batting and fearless approach, and now former Proteas speedster Dale Steyn has similar views on the Indian batter.

Steyn heaped rich praise on Suryakumar for his incredible batting skills and said he would be a triumphant card for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, thanks to his playing style.

The South African pacer legend also compared Suryakumar with his former captain, De Villiers, and said that the right-hander is among the players to watch in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Dale Steyn said on Star Sports show 'Cricket Live': “He likes to get in behind the square. In places like Perth, Melbourne, and all of these grounds, there is a little bit of extra pace on it. So, you can use the pace, you can hit on the fine leg, behind, and all along the carpet. And he's also really good when standing still and getting off the back foot.”

The former pacer added, “He has played some amazing back foot cover drives and some beautiful cover drives off the front foot too. So, he's an all-round player, and it's in Australia, where the wickets are so good, they are batter friendly. You can also get away when a bowler tries to bowl full, you can place the ball left and you can use the pace of the ball really well, given some room.”

He signed off by saying, “So, he is a wonderful 360-degree player, reminding me of AB de Villiers. He could be India's version of AB de Villiers and with the red-hot form that he's in right now, he's a player to definitely watch out for this World Cup.”
