India and Pakistan will kickstart their upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against each other on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Haris Rauf revealed that he has even started his planning on how to bowl against the arch-rivals on his "home ground".
Pakistan's star speedster further said that the cricket matches between India and Pakistan are always high-pressure games, but he is now used to the hype and just focusing on his game, so he is ready for the high-octane clash of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 at the MCG.
Rauf also warned Team India not to take him lightly, as the MCG is his home ground, because he plays for the Melbourne Stars in the BBL, and hence he has great knowledge of the MCG conditions.
Haris Rauf said in a press conference in Lahore: “The match between India and Pakistan is always a high-pressure game. Whoever the opponent is, it's always a high-pressure game. During the World Cup last year, I was feeling so much pressure. But in the past two matches in the Asia Cup, I didn't feel much of it because I knew I just had to give my best.”
The pacer added, “If I give my best, they won't be able to play me easily. For the upcoming World Cup match, I'm very happy because it is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It is my home ground because I play for the Melbourne Stars and I have an idea of how the conditions play out there. I've already started planning of how I would bowl against India.”
After the fifth T20I on Wednesday, Haris is the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing 7-match T20I series against England with 8 wickets in five matches.
