Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq believes that the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team will go on to win the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia later this year.

He further said that Pakistan has been performing exceptionally well in all departments and they deserve to be at the top of the rankings in T20I cricket. According to the former cricketer, Pakistan has a good chance of winning the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 and ODI World Cup 2023.

Abdul Razzaq told Sports Paktv: “To be frank, I'm not just saying this because I'm from Pakistan, but we should be no.1 in the rankings. The way we are performing in all the three departments; batting, bowling, and fielding, we can see a unity in this side.”

He further added, “I have full hopes that in the upcoming ICC tournaments, the Pakistan team will perform and finish at the top.”

Razzaq also hopes to see Pakistan captain Babar at the top of the ICC rankings in all three formats of the game. Notably, Babar is currently the top-ranked batter in both the ICC ODI and T20I rankings.

He signed off by saying, “It's his time to deliver. He has been performing for the past 4-5 years. I hope that he will be able to continue with the same momentum and become no.1 across all formats. If he continues like this, it's good for the Pakistan team and Pakistan cricket.”
