The countdown to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has begun with the ICC starting to promote the premier T20 competition in the world, which will be hosted by Australia in October- November this year.
The fans are eagerly waiting to witness the extravagant event in which the finest of the cricket teams will participate and fight for the title. The hosts Australia are also the defending champions, who will be under pressure to keep the trophy at home after the tournament ends.
The official social media handles of the ICC and T20 World Cup are getting flooded with promotional videos. And on Sunday, they shared a new video highlighting India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who was shown in a huge avatar.
“It’s going to be an incredibly tough competition”, Aaron Finch on the upcoming T20 World Cup
The video showed a giant Rishabh Pant emerging from the Sydney harbor, dressed up in the blue Indian jersey, fully padded up, and taking a stroll across the city, like Godzilla in the movies.
“Welcome to The Big Time, Rishabh Pant,” the caption of the video read.
Rishabh Pant has attracted a huge fan following in Australia thanks to his contribution to India’s last two-Test series wins down under. He had scored a century in Sydney Test in 2019 and then his exploits in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar series when in absence of Virat Kohli after the first Test defeat in Adelaide, the Ajinkya Rahane-led side defeated Australia to win the series.
Pant scored a brilliant 97 in the drawn Sydney Test and then made 89* in the amazing Brisbane Test win.
