Cricketer Hassan Ali's wife Samiya has denied getting threats after Pakistan's defeat against Australia in the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final. Ali had dropped Matthew Wade's catch who went on to smash three consecutive sixes to take Australia over the line.

It was the 19th over of Australia's run-chase when they needed 22 runs to win the match. Wade was dropped by Hassan on the third delivery of Shaheen Afridi and he made them pay by hitting a hat-trick of sixes in the last three deliveries.

There were rumors of Hassan Ali's family receiving threats from fans after their semi-final loss. But Samiya has rejected claims of threats to their family and she said they have got tons of support from the fans instead.

Hassan's wife also confirmed that she is not on Twitter and the account named after her is a fake profile. "So many tweets circulating from this fake account that I, Hassan and my daughter are getting threats from the people of Pakistan, which is absolutely wrong,” she wrote in an Instagram story.

"Instead, we have seen tons of support. Please don’t believe any such statements and don’t follow any such accounts on Twitter pretending to be me.

"I am not on Twitter. Please report the accounts claiming to be me," she clarified on Instagram.
