Australia batter David Warner surprised Twitterati with his decision to walk off the field after he was given out despite not edging the ball in T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final match against Pakistan. Australia had a review left in but Warner didn't go for it after the umpire raised the finger off Shadab Khan's delivery.

Warner was looking in good touch and he got out after scoring 49 runs off 30 balls. With his dismissal, Australia lost their fourth wicket for 89 after 10.1 overs, while chasing 177 runs in 20 overs.

The 'Ultra Edge' in replay showed there was a gap between bat and ball and no contact was made. Cricket Australia's digital content team took to social media to share a photo as they were also baffled by the umpire's decision to give it out and Warner's refusal to challenge the call.

It could have cost them the match, but fortunately, Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis' unbroken 81-run partnership for the sixth wicket helped them chase down the target in 19 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

Wade remained unbeaten on 41 off 7 balls, while Stoinis scored 40* off 31 balls after Warner ensured they take the game to the last five overs with his knock.
