New Zealand qualified for their first-ever T20 World Cup final by beating England.

Former India batter Wasim Jaffer dig up ex-England cricketer Kevin Pietersen's tweet in which he suggested that the T20 World Cup 2021 trophy should be given to England. He wrote that no other team than Pakistan and Afghanistan can defeat them, that too only if the match is played on a used Sharjah pitch.

“Only Pakistan or Afghanistan can beat England in this T20 World Cup. BUT and it’s a BIG BUT, the game would have to be played on a used wicket in Sharjah. Anywhere else, just hand England the trophy like Chelsea should be handed the EPL trophy RIGHT NOW!”, Pietersen had tweeted.

But Pietersen's claim didn't turn out to be true as New Zealand defeated England by 5 wickets in the first semi-final on Wednesday (November 10).

Jaffer quoted his tweet and shared a picture of the Blackcaps skipper Kane Williamson with a message in Hindi.

"Haa, hum to yaha bass Burj Khalifa dekhne aaye hai (yes, we’re just here to visit the Burj Khalifa)," the funny message read on Williamson's picture.

England were a strong contender to lift the title in this tournament, but they failed to defend their score of 166/4 in the semi-final. New Zealand, despite losing two early wickets of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson, chased down the target in 19 overs.
