Following Team India’s win against Namibia in their last Super 12s league match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai, Ravindra Jadeja hailed Virat Kohli as a positive and aggressive skipper, saying that he enjoyed playing under him.

Team India registered a comfortable 9-wicket victory over Namibia, which also marked Virat Kohli’s last game as an Indian skipper in T20Is.

Bowling first, Indian bowlers were all over the Namibia batters and never allowed them to take control of the game. The spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin combined together to pick 6 wickets while Jasprit Bumrah scalped two wickets as India restricted their opposition to the score of just 132 runs.

Chasing the target, Indian openers Rohit Sharma (56) and KL Rahul (54*) continued their red hot form and scored half-centuries to help their side chase the target in 15.2 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was awarded as a Player of the Match for his figures of 3/15, said that he enjoyed bowling against Namibia as some balls were turning and some went straight.

“As a bowler, I did enjoy bowling today. The ball was dry so I enjoyed bowling with a dry ball. Some balls were turning, some were going straight, so that’s also a trick, the batsman has to keep on guessing," Ravindra Jadeja said in a post-match presentation.

Jadeja said that he enjoyed bowling with R Ashwin and lauded the off-spinner as a wonderful white-ball bowler.

“I’m enjoying bowling with him, I’ve been playing with him for 10 years. He’s doing wonderfully with the white ball, did it in IPL also," he said.

Jadeja lauded Virat Kohli as a skipper, saying that his positive and aggressive nature as a captain is what a player wants.

“Virat has been a wonderful captain, and I’ve played with him for 10-12 years. He is always positive and aggressive and that’s what you want as a player," he said.

Ravindra Jadeja also talked about the outgoing Team India coaching staff consisting of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, R Sridhar, and said they were good support to the players.

“Bharat Arun, Mr. Sridhar, and Shastri bhai have done a great job as supporting staff for 7-8 years. Whoever comes next, we’ll look to continue the momentum," he concluded.

Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach while Rohit Sharma is the front-runner to lead Team India in the T20Is. The Indian cricket team will next be seen in action when they will take on New Zealand in the three-T20I series at home, starting 17th November.
