T20 World Cup 2021: WATCH – Chris Gayle takes last possible walk to dressing room amid applause from fans and teammates

Chris Gayle | GettyHe might not have officially announced his retirement from international cricket, but it seems that the West Indies legend Chris Gayle has made his final walk to the dressing room.

During West Indies’ last Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup against Australia in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (November 6), Gayle backed back to the pavilion amid applause from the fans and teammates.

The 42-year-old was also seen gifting his gloves to the fans after getting out.

Having made his international debut in 1999, Chris Gayle represented West Indies in 103 Tests, 301 ODIs and 79 T20Is. He has more than 18000 runs to his name at the highest level along with 42 centuries.

Gayle was part of West Indies’ 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cup triumphs. He also won the 2004 Champions Trophy with his national side.
