T20 World Cup 2021: Cricket fraternity lauds Australia's dominating 8-wicket win vs Bangladesh with 82 balls remaining

Bangladesh finished T20 WC 2021 losing all 5 matches in Super 12s round.

Adam Zampa picked 5/19 | GettyThe 34th match of the T20 World Cup 2021 saw Australia pummeling Bangladesh in a group 1 Super 12s clash in Dubai. They won the match by 8 wickets and 82 balls remaining giving their net run rate a huge boost.

Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bowl first in the day match. Shamim Hossain top-scored with 19, while Mohammad Naim and Mahmudullah also crossed double–digits, but couldn’t pass 20 as Bangladesh folded for 73 in 15 overs. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood picked 2 wickets apiece.

But the hero with the ball proved to be leg-spinner Adam Zampa who finished with 5/19 in 4 overs. He missed a hat-trick as well, as keeper Matthew Wade failed to grasp a catch off the hat-trick ball.

In reply, captain Aaron Finch went after the bowling scoring 40 in 20 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours, while David Warner made 18 including 3 fours. Mitchell Marsh finished the match with 16* as Australia romped home in 6.2 overs and 8 wickets in hand.

Bangladesh lost all of their five matches in the group stage, while Australia moved to the second spot in group 1.
