New Zealand registered their second victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup as they defeated Scotland by 16 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (November 3).

Asked to bat first, the Kiwis posted a massive 172/5 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of opener Martin Guptill’s 56-ball 93. Glenn Phillips also contributed 33 runs to New Zealand’s total.

Mark Watt was the stand-out bowler for Scotland, claiming one wicket by conceding only 13 runs in his four overs. Safyaan Sharif also returned with impressive figures of 2 for 28 in his four-over quota.

Michael Leask starred with the bat for Scotland, smashing 42 not out off 20 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
