Former Indian batter Virender Sehwag feels, despite a slow start, Team India can still lift the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 trophy and for that, they need to play better cricket.

Team India suffered a hammering at the hands of Pakistan in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2021. The Babar Azam-led team, after restricting ‘Men in Blue’ for 151 runs, chased the target down with 10 wickets in hand to register first win over the Men in Blue in World Cup history.

The loss against Pakistan gave Team India a wake-up call and they would be looking to stage a comeback when they face New Zealand, in what might be a must-win clash for them, on 31st October.

Virender Sehwag feels that the Virat Kohli-led side will win the T20 World Cup 2021 and all they have to do is play better cricket in their upcoming games. He also urged everyone to support Team India even if they lose.

“According to me, it's Team India who will win this T20 World Cup. They'll only have to play better cricket here onwards. We always cheer for our team when it wins but when it loses we have to support it even more. So, I believe that India can win the T20 World Cup,” Virender Sehwag said on his Facebook show Virugiri Dot Com.

On the other hand, Pakistan has moved one step closer to qualifying for semis in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 as in their next match, they defeated New Zealand by 5 wickets to win two out of their two matches in the mega event.

Talking about the same, Virender Sehwag said that chances of Pakistan going to the semi-final is almost certain because their next matches are against Afghanistan, Scotland, and Namibia.

“With this win, the chances of Pakistan going to semis are almost certain because their matches are against Afghanistan, Scotland, and Namibia. Even if they win their next two matches, they will qualify for the semifinals,” he said.

Pakistan have won two out of their two matches and a win would alomst seal them a place in semi-final. They will next face Afghanistan on 29th October.
