India's ex-cricketers Venkatesh Prasad, Aakash Chopra, and Wasim Jaffer have expressed their displeasure over former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis' comment on Mohammad Rizwan offering namaz "in front of Hindus" during the India vs Pakistan match in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan emerged victorious over India by 10 wickets on Sunday (October 24) and Rizwan was the top scorer with unbeaten 79 runs. "The manner in which Babar and Rizwan batted, the strike-rotation, the look on their faces, it was amazing.

"The best thing, what Rizwan did, Mashallah, he offered the Namaz on the ground surrounded by Hindus, that was really something very special for me," Waqar was heard saying on Pakistan's TV channel.

Meanwhile, Twitter users slammed the former cricketer for his comment. Not only fans, but the cricket fraternity also made objections over Waqar's comment and said he shouldn't bring race, religion, and color.

Prasad called Waqar a shameless man and wrote, "Hinduon ke beech me khade hoke namaaz padhe, that was very very special for me" - Waqar. Takes jihadi mindset of another level to say this in a sport. What a shameless man."

While Chopra tweeted, "Et tu, Waqar!", Jaffer called it a 'disgusting' comment by Pakistan great. "Absolutely vile and disgusting comments from Waqar Younis. #Shameful," his tweet read.
