India will kick start its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign against Pakistan on Sunday, October 24, in Dubai and there is always the hype and the pressure on the players for the blockbuster clash and to ease that, there couldn’t be a better man than MS Dhoni.

Dhoni, who is known for his calmness on the field and is already a legend having won all the major ICC trophies for India, was reportedly appointed as Team India mentor to bring calmness and ease the pressure on the players with his experience and presence in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

A source in the Indian team management revealed that the youngsters in the team need a "big brother figure" to give them a calming influence and not let the occasion get to them and that’s why Dhoni has been appointed as a mentor to help the team in the tournament.

As reported by ANI, the source stated: “We start with the game against Pakistan, and Dhoni's presence has seen the whole dressing room wear a calm look. His room is obviously the bonding zone for the players and you can always expect him to come up with the answers to the queries of the youngsters and it hasn't been any different this time going into the T20 World Cup.”

He concluded, “This team has some of the most talented players in the country, but big-match experience is something that can only come with time and there isn't much of that in this team apart from the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Shami and a couple others. The youngsters need that big brother figure in the team to give them a calming influence when they walk out to the middle.”
