A funny incident happened during the match between Ireland and Namibia in Round 1 of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Comedy of errors on last delivery of Ireland's innings cost Namibia three runs.

Simi Singh was on strike when he tried to scoop David Wiese and couldn't get it right. Wiese saw Simi moving inside the crease and he adjusted at the last moment.

The bowler then collected the ball and threw it past the keeper while attempting a run-out. The Ireland batters ran for the overthrow and completed the second run. Craig Young was being cheeky and he ran for the third run while his partner, Simi was still completing the second run.

Namibia saw an opportunity of run-out but they goofed up at the bowler's end and Ireland added three runs off the last ball which could have been avoided easily.

Every run in a cricket match counts and the extra runs could have affected Namibia's chances. But the target of 126 runs wasn't enough to stop Namibia from defeating a Test nation to advance into the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

Former champion Sri Lanka topped Group A with three wins. Namibia finished second in the group with wins over Ireland and Netherlands.

Scotland and Namibia will feature in Group 2 which includes India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.
