India's 1983 World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev highlighted the importance of a match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan that will take place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

The countdown for the much-anticipated clash of the T20 World Cup 2021 has begun. Virat Kohli-led Indian Cricket Team will take on Pakistan in their first game of the mega event on Sunday (24th October).

The clash between India and Pakistan has been a high-octane clash. The two sides have matched each other blow for blow whenever they have locked horns with each other.

The two cricketing heavyweights do not play each other in the bilateral series anymore, which makes their match in the ICC event or Asia Cup even more important considering the history and tension between the nations.

Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev highlighted the importance of a clash between India and Pakistan, saying that if players take too much pressure then they will not get the desired performances.

He added that a Team that believes in having fun while playing will have increased chances of winning the game.

"It all depends on pressure and pleasure. If you are enjoying the game or are under pressure. If you take too much pressure, then you will not get the desired performances. The chances of winning the game increase for the team who believes in having fun while playing," Kapil Dev said in a show on ABP TV.

Kapil Dev said that youngster can receive heaps of recognition if he performs well in these matches.

"Players get recognition by doing well in IND-PAK matches. If a youngster comes out and performs well, then he gets global recognition. Whereas, if a senior player does not do well, then it can hurt his reputation," he said.

After defeating England in the first warm-up game by 7 wickets, the Virat Kohli-led side will take on Australia in their second warm-up game on 20th October.
